Overview

We are Drybar, the pioneer in the blow out bar business. We set out in 2010 with one, small shop in Los Angeles and one big mission: to shake up the beauty industry. Our blowing has grown to 75+ locations across 15 markets and along the way we launched our own product line that is crafted for the perfect blowout. We are seeking Sephora obsessed, education focused, product junkie Account Executives who are looking for a new challenge: helping us to bring our weapons of perfection to the masses.

 

The Account Executive (AE) is the “essence of the brand” at the store level. The ideal candidate must enjoy the retail environment and possess a high level of education/training, sales achievement, and people skills.  The candidate must be a strong seller and with an ability to pull, consult, and build a sale.  An AE must have the ability to successfully plan, organize and conduct events at the store level. Communication skills, timely reporting practices and a collaborative approach with RSEM to developing business within the stores serviced is a must. Energy, passion & resilience are crucial; must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities

SALES PERFORMANCE

  • Create and execute strategies to achieve targeted sales growth within assigned territory
  • Utilize weekly/monthly/quarterly reports to analyze trends and performance and develop strategic plans to increase market share, rank and comp
  • Maximize productivity of region via call cycle optimization and volume analysis
  • Manage, direct and execute regional promotional events to optimize sales potential
  • Initiate and facilitate meetings with key district and store management to build relationships and reinforce brand awareness and prioritization
  • Coordinate and facilitate new store opening, relocation and cluster trainings within region
  • Participate in key strategic meetings with retail partners as needed (BBR’s,etc)
  • Oversee execution of merchandising/visual strategy at store level, analyzing team store reports and providing support as necessary; ensure timely delivery of store reports to corporate
  • Partner with Drybar product team and store personnel to harmonize inventories at store level
  • Report competitive activities and trends back to corporate

TRAINING & EDUCATION RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Train and lead store staff and freelancers in exceptional styling skills, product knowledge, and consultative sales techniques to drive Drybar business and meet productivity and sales goals
  • Collaborate on, and implement, corporately directed Education plans and training initiatives by retailer
  • Executive gratis strategies by retailer responsibly
  • Represent the Drybar brand in personal image, hair styling (on self) and presentation in trainings and events
  • Be aware of hair trends and translate that to Drybar products/application in training and event activities

OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare event timelines with store teams and freelancers, in conjunction with RSEM, to ensure optimal event execution and store participation
  • Partner with RSEM to use business analysis tools to create impactful store-based action plans
  • Collaborate with retail partners to analyze and assess stock needs; relay stock concerns to RSEM and Director of Sales.
  • Support in-store merchandising  and visual programs and communicate challenges
  • Be the “eyes and ears” of the brand at the store level; provide continual communication of store, product, space/location challenges and/or changes to RSEM and Director of Sales
  • Maintain weekly communication with RSEM regarding business opportunities, results, successes; complete and submit post-event recaps and weekly reports in a timely manner

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Freelancers, as needed and directed by RSEM, coach and develop freelancer skill sets - in terms of product knowledge, artistry skills, sales techniques - giving feedback and leading by example
  • Assist RSEM in recruiting, onboarding and assessment of freelance; implement individual development plans to help freelancers best support brand and convey progress reports to RSEM periodically
  • As requested by RSEM, support RSEM in building and managing freelance calendars to ensure optimal coverage for brand support and events

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or comparable 2-3 years of retail, sales and/or stylist experience, preferably in the beauty or CPG industry
  • Understanding of/experience working with Sephora, required
  • Multi-store visit calendar booking and management ability
  • Memorable, positive, professional and enthusiastic presence
  • Strong aptitude for product knowledge, brand messaging, styling, training, and selling
  • Solid problem-solving skills and business acumen
  • Proficiency with sales analysis and budget management
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and tasks with precision
  • Self-motivated, passionate, entrepreneurial & goal-oriented spirit
  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Suite products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel regularly and to work flexible hours (ie. Weekends)
  • Driver’s license a plus (in most cases a necessity)
